Before You Arrive
Completing your paperwork ahead of time means your first visit stays focused on your care, not your clipboard. You can fill out your new patient forms online before you come in.
Plan to bring the following:
- A valid photo ID
- Your insurance card, if you have coverage
- A list of any medications you currently take
- The name of any previous dentist, if you would like us to request records

When You Walk In
From the moment you arrive, the pace here is different. You will not be handed a clipboard and pointed to a waiting room chair. Our team will greet you, get you settled, and make sure you have everything you need before your appointment begins.
If you have questions about your insurance, your forms, or anything else, this is a good time to ask. We would rather sort those details out upfront than leave anything unclear.
Before your appointment begins, our team will walk you through the office. It is a small thing that makes a real difference, especially if this is your first time in a new practice.

Built Around Your Comfort
The details inside this office were chosen with your visit in mind. Once you're settled, you have access to:
- A complimentary beverage bar to start your visit
- Streaming, music, and flat-screen TVs in every treatment room
- Wireless headphones, if you prefer to tune everything out
- Warm towels, blankets, and pillows
- A play area and video games for kids
You’re not just tolerating a dental appointment here. The experience is designed so you can actually relax.

Your Exam
Once you're comfortable, Dr. Sykes will take time to get to know you before anything else. He wants to understand your concerns, your history, and what you're hoping to get out of your care here.
From there, your exam includes a full evaluation of your teeth, gums, and jaw. Depending on what you're due for, it may also include:
- Digital X-rays or CBCT imaging for a detailed look at your dental health
- Intraoral camera imaging so you can see exactly what Dr. Sykes sees
- An oral cancer screening
- A periodontal evaluation to assess gum health
- Salivary diagnostics to identify bacterial levels and assess your risk for decay and gum disease before problems develop
- An airway health review to screen for signs of breathing and sleep-related concerns that often go undetected in a standard exam

Understanding Your Options
If anything needs attention, Dr. Sykes will walk you through it clearly. You will see what he sees, understand why it matters, and hear your options before any decisions are made.
There is no pressure to commit to treatment on the same day. Some patients want to move quickly. Others want time to think it over or ask more questions. Both are fine. The goal is that you leave with a complete picture of your dental health and a plan that makes sense for your life.

Before You Move Forward
If treatment is recommended, Dr. Sykes will sit down with you personally to go over the plan before anything is scheduled. You will receive a clear breakdown of what your insurance covers, what your out-of-pocket responsibility looks like, and what financing options are available if you need them.
Nothing moves forward until you understand and agree to the plan. No surprises.

Wrapping Up
At the end of your visit, our team will review what was covered, confirm any next steps, and get your follow-up appointment scheduled before you leave.
If you need a same-day emergency appointment at any point, we keep time in our schedule for that. The goal is to at least get you out of discomfort on the same visit, even if full treatment is completed at a follow-up.
You will leave knowing exactly what comes next and when to come back.
